Create a Personal Practice and Empower Yourself!

September 24, October 1, 8, and 15

OBJECTIVES ~ Gain a basic understanding of:

  • History of yoga and its intrinsic teachings.

  • The science behind Pranayama, the yogic breathing. How to use pranayama safely for your well-being

  • Koshas, the 5 layers of the body.

  • The movements of the spine and all the joints in the body and how to move them safely.

  • Anatomical alignment for about 30 asanas and how to join them together in a beautiful flow.

  • How to use asanas safely in a flow to stretch, strengthen, and/or relax as needed.

  • Creating an intelligent flow for yourself based on the time of the day, the weather, and your energy levels.


A 4-week Course to Create a Personal Practice

There is no substitute to a dedicated personal practice. This is a self-empowerment training to become a strong yoga practitioner and wherever this journey takes you.

Content for the Online Sessions includes:

  • 15 min power-point presentation on theory

  • 45 min asana and pranayama sequence

  • 15 min meditation and/or yoga nidra

  • 15 min group discussion


What does it include?

 

Atha Yoga-anushasnam. ~ Yoga sutra 1.1

Now, the discipline of yoga begins. The word atha is used for commencement, implying that your journey into yoga starts NOW. Not back then or sometime in the future; not the way you were or the way you want to be. It starts here and now, right where you are, how you are. There is no looking back. Get ready to begin your journey wherever you are and stay open to all possibilities!

You will receive a written sequence for:

  • 4 active and dynamic yoga flows.

  • 4 gentle and restorative yoga flows.

  • Access to all my live online classes for the month of October (that’s 20 classes in total!)

  • A 45 min online private session at the end of the course to fine-tune your practice.

  • Continued support via email after the course.

  • A network of support from like-minded people.

    Investment: $199 early-bird before Sept 20; $225 after

  • Includes access to all the online group classes in October, valued at $50.

  • Includes one 45 min private online session with me after completing the course, valued at $108.

I finally am realizing my practice can be whatever I need at the time. I love just following my body’s instinct in a flow, not trying to approach it mentally, trying to fit in a pose for every part of my body or what I think I SHOULD do. Another thing that has helped me is setting up my mat in a permanent place so I can just hop onto it whenever I feel ready, even if only for 10 minutes at a time. This course has been great for me!
