Cheers to 2021

2020 has been a year of surprises---unusual, unpredictable, and unforgettable. It has been a year like no other in our collective memories and a year that we will talk about for years to come. No matter where you were living and what you were doing around March 15, life came to a screeching halt as the lockdowns started all over the world. After the initial shock, we all had to find a new way of doing business and a new way of communicating with friends and family. My gratitude to the healthcare workers and many frontline personnel who helped keep us safe. My sympathies with everyone who lost their livelihood or a loved one to Covid19.

Even though it was difficult, the consolation was that we were all in this together. In spite of its difficulties, 2020 may have been the biggest teacher of our times. It made us realize who and what is really important in our lives. It made us look at all the extraneous things around us. It taught us ways to spend more quality time with our loved ones whether it was by playing games or baking cookies. It was certainly a wonderful year for Mother Nature and all its other inhabitants. The animals in wild could get respite from humans and the pets at home got more love. My son who has been asking for a dog since he was 8 years old, finally got one and so did many other boys and girls across the country. I never thought that I could love another being like my own children and our sweet pup, Leo taught me that very quickly.

The most important gift of 2020 may have been the gift of time. Many of us had extra time whether it was due to not being able to go shopping or saving the morning commute time. That extra time was important and necessary to reflect on the inner self and the inner journey. 2020 forced us to change our ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. Change is good. Change is necessary. Change is the only constant in our lives. Let us embrace the change. Let us embrace 2021, a New Year with new hopes and dreams! A New Year where our world is expansive. A new world where you can learn yoga from a teacher in India in real-time, learn music or dance from your favorite teacher in another State, play games with your grandchildren on zoom.

It is a beautiful new world of no limitations which brings all of us together in new ways. There is much to be thankful for! I wish you abundance of beauty, blessings and love in your Universe. I wish you a new, beautiful and safe world of limitless possibilities.

Cheers to 2021!
May it bring much love and light in your lives,
Ritu
