Shift from busy to calm, from tight to released

Gentle Kripalu: Mondays 9:00-10:15am, Thursdays 10:30-11:45am

Moderate Kripalu: Mondays 10:30-11:45am, Thursdays 9:00-10:15am

Kripalu Flow: Wednesdays 4-5 pm

Gentle Kripalu Yoga is suitable for beginners and any one who wants to move every joint in the body, stretch gently and strengthen with calm breath and awareness.  You will feel a shift during class from busy to calm and from tight to released.  The class starts with centering and pranayama (breath work) and moves through poses designed to work the six motions of the spine (forward and back, side to side, and twisting left and right).  The long muscles of the spine are gently strengthened with a variety of simple but powerful sequences to tone and balance the system.  The class finishes with mild inversion and savasana.  You will leave this class feeling refreshed and more easy in your body/mind.

Moderate Kripalu Yoga moves through centering and flows in to pratapana (warm ups), pranayama (breath work) and asana (posture) sequences that build to a pinnacle pose.  You will move every part of the body, stretching and strengthening through familiar sequences, as well as exploring more dynamic movement within postures while using breath and basic alignment.  Each class will vary as you experience more familiar movement combined with creative exploration.  This class is suitable for people with some prior yoga experience.  This class follows directly after Gentle Kripalu Yoga on Monday mornings and both classes together make a great start to your week!

Kripalu Flow Yoga is a moderate intensity class similar to Moderate Kripalu Yoga with some additional vinyasa style movement with the breath.  This will help you unwind and move so that relaxation and release flow easily and deeply.  Suitable for all levels; a gradient of postures is provided so you can choose how gently or deeply to practice based on your body/mind/spirit in the moment.
